Intern/PhD/Postdoc Positions @ Max Planck Institute for Software Systems (MPI-SWS)

by Eva Darulova, Feb. 19, 2016

I am looking for motivated students and postdocs who would like to join my research group at the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems (MPI-SWS) to work on exciting projects at the intersection of software verification, synthesis and approximate computing.

In particular, I am looking for people who want to work on techniques and tools that
- approximate programs to use less resources,
- do this in an automated, push-button way and
- provide correctness guarantees.

I have open positions for interns, doctoral students and a postdoc.

* Internships typically last for 12-14 weeks and are open for both undergraduates and graduates. Interns receive monthly stipends during their stay and are provided free housing by the institute. Internships usually take place during the summer, but the dates are flexible and agreed on a case by case basis.

* PhD positions (in collaboration with universities) are fully funded and typically last 4 years. PhD students are involved in research from day one and choose projects based on mutual interest. Applicants should have a strong 4-year Bachelor or a Master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline. The starting date is flexible.

* Postdocs may work with me on existing projects, but can also develop individual lines of research. Postdoc positions are fully funded, last 1-2 years and can start any time.

MPI-SWS is located in Saarbrücken and Kaiserslautern, in the tri-border area of Germany, France, and Luxembourg (the advertised positions are in Saarbrücken). The institute is international and English speaking; knowledge of German is not required.
