Position opening: Assistant Professor, Computer Science

The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty are: teaching, research, scholarship and/or creative activity, and service to the University, profession and to the community.

Minimum Qualifications:

1) An earned doctorate in Computer Science from an accredited institution (or equivalent); applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered. The doctorate must be completed by the date of appointment (8/16/2018);
2) Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate level;
3) Evidence of publications in scholarly journals, and;
(4) Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a multicultural/multiethnic urban campus environment with a substantial population of first-generation students.

Preferred Qualifications:

1) Demonstrated expertise in Machine Learning, Programming languages and paradigms, Cyber-physical systems, Augmented and Virtual Reality, Computer Graphics, Modelling and Simulation, Data Science, and/or Robotics;
2) Successful experience in generating financial resources through grants/contracts, and; 3) Demonstrated teaching experience at the graduate level.
