Lecturer in Computing, University of Kent, UK

by Richard Jones, Nov. 23, 2017

We seek to appoint a Lecturer (i.e. assistant professor, tenure track) with research interests in Programming Languages. Grade 7: £33,518 - £38,833 per annum or Grade 8: £39,992 - £47,722 per annum

Kent has a strong reputation for research in computer science, and particularly in programming languages. The 2014 REF (Research Excellence Framework) ranked Kent in the top quartile of 89 Computing departments across the country, coming 12th by Research Intensity. The Programming Languages and Systems research group has an outstanding reputation for its research, consistently ranked in the top 4 by csrankings.org over the past few years. You will contribute to research group’s success, complementing and extending its strength.

You will also make a significant contribution to teaching at all levels. The University of Kent was awarded a Gold rating, the highest, in the UK Government’s recent Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). The TEF Panel judged that Kent delivers "consistently outstanding teaching, learning and outcomes for its students"; it is of the "highest quality found in the UK".

The School of Computing is a welcoming and diverse environment that has been recognised with a Bronze Athena SWAN award. We are keen to enhance the balanced, inclusive and diverse nature of the community within the School and would particularly encourage female candidates to apply for this post.
