Frontiers in Software Engineering Education

Guest Editors:

- Alfredo Capozucca, Université du Luxembourg, Luxembourg

- Sophie Ebersold, University of Toulouse, France

- Jean-Michel Bruel, University of Toulouse, France

- Bertrand Meyer, Schaffhausen Institute of Technology, Switzerland

Information:

The aim of FISEE workshop series is to contribute to the advancement of software engineering, computing sience, and ICT education.

The proceedings organised as a follow up of the workshop is aimed at publishing relevant contributions that fall into the thematic of the workshop series. In its last edition the theme of the workshop was "Education in Technology" and "Technology for Education". The keynote speeches by Carlo Ghezzi ( Politecnico di Milano) and Armando Fox (UC Berkeley a) were the highlight of the event and provided a valuable perspective on the themes of the workshop.

We believe the theme fits very well the current times, in particular with the advent of the AI assistants (e.g. ChatGPT, copilot, codex, etc) and their role during the learning process. Therefore, we invite researchers, educators, and practitioners to submit both innovative research results and position papers and provocative ideas (backed with early evidence) on the theme "Education in Technology" and "Technology for Education", where the current trending topic of usage of AI assistants in teaching fits very well. Any contribution on the theme is welcome. Other topics of interest (but not limited to) are:

- Education in technology and technology for education

- New (and fearless) ideas on education

- Adjustments in teaching during pandemic: experience reports

- Models for class development

- How to design learning objectives and outcomes

- Labs and practical sessions: how to conduct them

- Curriculum Development

- Course Design

- Quality Course Assessment

- Long-life studies in education

- Empirical research in SE education

- Experiences in starting-up new educational systems

- Blended education

We invite you to submit your research to this proceedings and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the fields of software engineering, computing science, and ICT education. For any questions or further information, please contact the guest editors.

If a previous version of the manuscript has been published somewhere else, then authors must explicitly explain the novelty of this new submission and provide at least 30% new material. Surveys, literature reviews and mapping studies are also welcome as part of this proceedings.

All manuscripts should be submitted through Easychair at

https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=fisee2023

All submissions will be reviewed by three PC members using a two rounds single-blind review process.
