PhD position in energy-aware programming at University of Oslo
I am seeking candidates for a fully-funded 3-year PhD position at the University of Oslo under the LEAP project. Option for up to an extra year with teaching.
In the LEAP project (Leveraging Energy-Aware Programming), we will investigate if it is possible to develop a model for energy-aware programming and implement the needed tools to support it.
This PhD position is to build a foundation for understanding and quantifying of energy consumption for modern hardware, languages, compilers and run-time system. This will include research in measuring the energy consumption of different aspect computing systems and programming languages. Based on this, you will research tool, programming languages and/or programming models that can aid programmers in understanding or mitigating energy aspects of their programs.
